We Who Believe In Freedom Cannot Rest!

January 21, 2017

Women (and men) from all over the world, from many different backgrounds, joined together on Saturday, January 21, 2017 to take a stand for women's rights.

Coming from a legacy of activism and music, Toshi Reagon was tapped as the musical director of the Women's March; reminding all that "music is a weapon" and the need to come together to raise our voices for what truly matters is extremely imperative.

Toshi and her band, BIGLovely, opened the event with her song FREEDOM and served as the "house" band for the momentous day. As the march's musical director, she also helped curate the artists who performed.

To commemorate the march, Toshi performed ELLA'S SONG, written by her mother Bernice Johson Reagon and performed by the famed a cappella group Sweet Honey In The Rock.

Toshi's recording of ELLA'S SONG is available for free download via SoundCloud.
