July 11, 2018

The highest honor that the United States bestows upon jazz artists, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Jazz Masters, have been announced. Among the recipients is songwriter and musician Bob Dorough.

The lifetime achievment award will be honored to Bob posthumously as a Jazz Master. Bob's nomination was approved before his death in April 2018. He was 94 and would have been the oldest Jazz Master inductee.

The new class of NEA Jazz Masters will be inducted in a tribute concert and ceremony at the Kennedy Center on Monday, April 15, 2019.
