Now is the Time: Artists Go to Work – Part I | Park Avenue Armory

We’re proud to celebrate Toshi Reagon who will be featured in Park Avenue Armory’s 2026 Making Space series kickoff: Now is the Time: Artists Go to Work. Presented in partnership with the The Toni Morrison Foundation and the Princeton Atelier, this season-long initiative is inspired by Toni Morrison’s call for artists to “go to work” in challenging times. As America approaches its 250th anniversary, the program creates space for artists to reflect, connect, and build community through creativity and mutual care.

The kickoff event takes place on March 28, at 7pm at the Veterans Room, Park Avenue Armory and features a public conversation with poet and activist Staceyann Chin and Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer, and educator Esperanza Spalding, followed by a live performance from Toshi Reagon alongside her band Big Lovely and special guests. Expect her signature sonic Americana, spanning folk, funk, blues, and rock, delivered with the depth, fire, and communal spirit that define her work.

Toshi’s artistry continues to lead with purpose, connection, and fearless expression. We’re honored to see her voice at the center of this powerful event. Learn more and join the celebration at Park Avenue Armory.
