Beloved singer-songwriter and friend, Kenny Rogers has passed at 81. He will be missed.

In 1967, Rogers co-founded the group, The First Edition, with whom he recorded the major hit BUT YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU.

A few of Rogers’ songs with TRO include,

A STRANGER IN MY PLACE - first recorded on Kenny Rogers & The First Edition’s 1970 album, Something’s Burning. In 1971, it was the second single for Canadian country pop artist, Anne Murray; peaking at #1 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart and #27 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. In 1980, the song charted again for Jimmy “Orion” Ellis, reaching #69 on the country charts.

MOMMA’S WAITING - featured on Kenny Rogers & The First Edition's fifth album, Something's Burning. Only one single was issued from the album, the title song "Something's Burning" with "Momma's Waiting" on the flip side. It was a worldwide Top 40 hit in 1970, including a #11 peak in the US and #8 in the UK.

GOOD TIME LIBERATOR - featured on The First Edition's fourth album, Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town, in 1969.

LOVE WOMAN - released in 1970 and featured on Kenny Rogers & The First Edition's sixth album, Tell It All Brother. The album reached #61 on the Billboard 200 chart.
