Rest in Peace Denny Laine

Denny Laine, cofounder, and singer of The Moody Blues, passed away on December 5th, in NCH Baker Hospital in Naples, FL after a long battle with interstitial lung disease. He was 79. 

Brian Frederick Hines was born on October 29, 1944. He took on the stage name Denny Laine in his first band Denny Laine and The Diplomats. Laine left the band and formed The M&B 5 with Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas, which was renamed The Moody Blues. Their cover of “Go Now” by Bessie Banks instantly became their biggest single, reaching no. 1 on the British charts and no. 10 in the United States. 

Denny Laine left The Moody Blues in 1966. He joined Paul McCartney and worked beside him in their popular band Wings throughout the 70s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of The Moody Blues, in 2018. Denny Laine you will be missed.
