Exactly one month from today — on August 14 — Shamus Records will release Woody At Home – Volumes 1 & 2, a landmark collection of 22 never-before-heard home recordings from folk icon Woody Guthrie. Captured during the early months of 1951 and 1952 at the Guthrie family’s Brooklyn apartment, these recordings were made as Woody’s introduction to his publisher, Howie Richmond of TRO Essex. Woody’s candid reflections and storytelling are interwoven with sounds of his toddlers and the home itself — doors opening, footsteps, and everyday life.
