Wicked Star Cynthia Erivo performed a moving cover of “Fly Me to the Moon” written by Bart Howard, in honor of Quincy Jones.
The song was originally recorded by Kaye Ballard in 1954, but it became a hit in 1964 when it was arranged by Quincy Jones for the legendary performer, Frank Sinatra. Sparking a long-term partnership between the two, the pair would continue to work together for the next two decades.
Quincy Jones was an esteemed musician, composer, and producer, who shaped some of the biggest stars and most memorable songs of the late 20th century. He will be missed.
