TRO's catalog reached a new generation this year, with extensive collaborations, and hit derivatives, by modern artists!

Kendrick Lamar: "Worldwide Steppers"

In May 2022, Kendrick Lamar released his new album "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers" featuring the track "Worldwide Steppers" which samples "Breakthrough" by Vincent Crane. The album has been nominated for "Album of The Year" and "Best Rap Album" at the Grammy Awards!

Norma Tanega: "I'm The Sky"

On May 6, record label 'Mexican Summer' released a new Norma Tanega compilation "I’m the Sky: Studio and Demo Recordings, 1964–1971", which compiles the unheard work of Norma Tanega, a musician, painter, activist, and teacher. This double album contains songs from Norma Tanega's two studio albums "Walkin' My Cat Named Dog" and "I Don't Think It Will Hurt If You Smile", as well as a variety of unheard demos.

The Dropkick Murphys: "This Machine Still Kills Fascists"

American Celtic punk band, the Dropkick Murphys released a new album in October this year featuring Woody Guthrie songs including "Dig A Hole", and "All You Fonies"! The Dropkick Murphys' history with Woody Guthrie spans back decades, on their latest album band they have crafted an entire record with the support of the Woody Guthrie Foundation around the lyrics of the folk icon!

Bill Evan's: "Morning Glory" and "Inner Spirit"

In April 2022, 'Resonance Records' released two limited-edition Buenos Aires Bill Evans concert recordings, "Morning Glory", a 1973 Concert, and "Inner Spirit", a 1979 performance. The records highlight classic Bill Evans compositions like Waltz For Debby, Re: Person I Knew, Laurie, and more as well as exclusive interviews from the performers!

Hear TRO's catalog on the big screen with "Twilight Time" written by Buck Ram and Morty and Al Nevins, featured in the 2022 motion picture Don't Worry Darling starring Olivia Wilde, Harry Styles, Chris Pine, and Florence Pugh!

"Elvis"

"Are You Lonesome Tonight" written by Roy Turk and Lou Handman graced the theaters in the dynamic 2022 motion picture Elvis! The movie has been nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media at the Grammy Awards!

"Top Gun Maverick"

Hear "Bang a Gong (Get It On)", featured in the sequel, Top Gun Maverick. The movie follows one of the Navy's top aviators, Pete Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, as a courageous test pilot, and was also nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media at the Grammy Awards!

"The Bad Guys"

Earlier this year, the Dreamworks Animation The Bad Guys, based on the New York Times best-selling book series, featured the classic jazz standard "Fly Me to the Moon", written by Bart Howard!

Shaggy: "Fly Me to the Moon"

Shaggy, Jamaican-American reggae musician, singer, and DJ, released a new 'Sinatra style' album this year "Come Fly Wid Me", produced by Sting! This new work showcases Shaggy singing the Sinatra songbook in a reggae style, featuring "Fly Me to the Moon" written by Bart Howard! The work is nominated for "Best Reggae Album" at the Grammys!

Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder: "Get On Board"

Legendary blues musicians and guitarists Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder released a new album honoring the music of folk and blues writers Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee! ‘Get On Board: The Songs Of Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee‘ is the duo’s first full-length collaboration since their debut LP from their band, and is nominated for "Best Blues Album" at the Grammy Awards!

Joan Osborne: "Radio Waves"

In February of this year, American singer/songwriter Joan Osborne released a new album "Radio Waves", a unique assortment of Osborne’s favorite past live performances over her 25-year career. "Dream a Little Dream of Me", written by Fabian Andre, Wilbur Schwandt, and Gus Kahn, and "Real Love" by Toshi Reagon are featured.

Punch Brothers: "Streets of London"

In January of this year, the Punch Brothers, an American band whose style has been described as "bluegrass instrumentation and spontaneity in the structures of modern classical", covered Ralph McTell's classic "Streets of London" on their "Hell on Church Street Album". The work has been nominated for Best Folk Album at the Grammy Awards!

In 2022 TRO's catalog soared to new heights! "Fly Me to the Moon" was featured in the 2022 EToro Super Bowl Commerical, "Feeling Good" was featured in the 2022 Hoka Campaign, and "Gonna Build a Mountain" was placed in Shopify's 2022 "The Journey" advertisement!

The Who Hits Back Tour

The legendary rock band The Who joined together for a brand-new North American 2022 tour. “The Who Hits Back!” brought together singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist/songwriter Pete Townshend to the U.S. to passionately deliver The Who’s many classics, as well as songs from their most recent album, titled WHO. TRO was thrilled to catch their performance at Madison Square Garden in NYC on May 26, 2022.

Roger Waters This Is Not a Drill Tour

This year Roger Waters of the iconic English rock band Pink Floyd went on his 2022 tour "This Is Not A Drill!". The tour visited 31 cities across the US and Canada, and featured Pink Floyd classics like "Comfortably Numb" and "Hey You," as well as a tribute to the late Pink Floyd original member Syd Barrett! TRO caught his performance at Madison Square Garden on August 30, 2022.

Nick Mason The Echoes Tour

Drummer and co-founder of Pink Floyd Nick Mason went on his 2022 North American "The Echoes Tour". Nick Mason’s "Saucerful of Secrets" group was formed in 2018 with the explicit mission to showcase the sounds of Pink Floyd’s early years. The tour featured a set of songs ranging from the Syd Barrett era to the band's Echoes album.

The Dropkick Murphys Theater Tour

American Celtic punk band, The Dropkick Murphy's took their collaboration with the Woody Guthrie Foundation on the road this year. The band went on a U.S. theater tour to promote their newest album "This Machine Still Kills Fascists" featuring Woody Guthrie songs and lyrics. TRO was thrilled to catch their performance at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on October 24, 2022.
